Blacksburg location is going downhill. Last two visits months apart showed service, food quantity lacking. We were in after a bball game at Tech, they “weren’t prepared”. Let me get this right, a college town with a D1 basketball program playing gaTech and you didn’t know people wanted to eat after a 1pm start? The nachos plate has shrunken considerably. I even had to ask if it was the full size plate we ordered. Four different people waited our table. A sandwhich order took 30 minutes to fill, in an emopty restaurant! Making us late for a meeting.

I would like thank you for bringing Donna & the Buffalo to town. 22 of us came early enough to get tables in front of the sound board. We ALL had a GREAT time. We are already talking about comming to some of the other acts you have scheduled. Wendy was our server and she worked really hard all night. Please thank her for us.

My wife and I visited the Towers Mall location on the 20th of January, the food was good and the staff excellent but the sound system for Donna and the Buffalo was horrible. Instead of the usual too load sound some clubs have the audio was so low and uneven that we were unable to hear any of the vocals so we left early in the show. We would probably return for the food but am not certain we would return to see bands if this is the norm

Downtown is becoming a haven for theft. My daughter had her purse stolen this past weekend. When she called to see if someone by any chance had found anything or turned anything in the response was “I don’t know, I wouldn’t even know where to look”. Nice. Rest assured, I’ll tell everyone who wants to listen!

We went to Awful Arthur’s in Towers and didn’t and thought the food was overpriced for what we got and didn’t appreciate the smoking.

We’d like it a WHOLE lot more if the presence of smoke wasn’t around us in the bar area where all of the TVs and entertainment is. I don’t think a boring old room in the front of the restaurant serves as an equal place for the non-smokers to dine.

If you could change the smoking, we’d probably try it out again.

    Thanks.

My family and I have been eating at the Towers Mall location since it first opened way back when. We go on an average 2 maybe more times a month. We ate there this evening because of the shrimp special. When we ordered, my husband said to the waitress that “I would like a half pound of shrimp and my wife would like a half of pound of shrimp free”. We recieved our food and began eating. WE were about finished when she brought us the bill, my husband gave her the credit card and he reviewed the bill. It was at this time we noticed we were being charged $15.95 for a pound of shrimp.OK, yes we ordered a pound, but we wanted a 1/2 pound (that we would have paid for) and get the 2nd 1/2 pound for free. We DID NOT want 1 pound for $15.95 and 1 pound for free. When we said something to our waitress she only proceeded to confuse us and herself. So she asked us to wait a moment while she got someone, we thought she was going to get us the manager. Instead another waitress came back and tried to tell us that our check was correct because we recieved 2 pounds of shrimp but were only being charged for 1. We understood that, however we did not honestly realize we had eaten a pound of shrimp each until we saw the check. When we tried to explain what it was we wanted, had ordered, and had been charged for incorrectly, she said,”but you ate the two pounds of shrimp, didn’t you?!”. She was very rude and accusing when she said this. I felt that she was accusing us of purposly trying to fraud Awful Arthur’s out of a pound of shrimp. Like we sat home, thought it all out how we would go into a restraunt ask for something, get twice as much as we wanted, and then make such a fuss (after we ate it all up) that we would get it for free. I myself am a manager at a local restraunt, so customer satisfaction is my top priority. Whatever happened to ‘the guest/customer is always right,? or don’t argue with the guest/customer?’ Finally this rude girl got the manager. He did what was right, gave us what we originally asked for, to pay for a 1/2 pound of shrimp.
Why couldn’t he have been brought to us in the first place instead of that rude girl, I’ll never understand. I love Awful Arthur’s and we will be back. We know Barry, as I said we have been guests since the begining. He has also been a customer of ours at 1 time or another. So it’s not the company I am complaining about, it’s the assumption on the 2nd waitresses part and her overall atitude.
    Thank you.

We went to Awful Arthurs in Blacksburg, for our 36th anniversary. It WAS one of my favorite places to eat, now I will never go to Awful Arthurs again. It was a huge disappointment, especially for the size of the bill. We ordered the crab soup, one of my favorite things, and it came barely luke warm. This was on a weeknight, there were hardly any tables taken. It took about a half hour just to get that. We went with some friends, now I am ambarrassed that i asked them to come with us. We all ordered a salad, which never came until we were all half done with the meal, so we all took our salads home. The service was so bad, it was hard to order another drink, because the waitress was pretty much invisible. The worst thing was the plates my friends ordered, the build it yourself plate.
One ordered crab cakes and shrimp. There were 3 small pieces of shrimp and one small crab cake for $15!!!! The hush puppies on both orders were
fried to dried black and inedible. I am sure they would have been embarrased at Long John Silvers to serve food that looked like that.
The crab cake was so overcooked it just dry and hard, she asked for another one, which took another half hour to get. Her husband got the same three small shrimp, burnt hush puppies and dried up fried fish. The service was really bad and getting a salad when half way thru a dinner is inexcusable, especially at those prices. MY friend did get her dinner free, but it is still an experience I will not do again. For the $75 I spent there, I would have rather gone to Hardees.
    THanks!

And, if you want to hear a really good duet doing acoustic music, please ask for Just Duet. We mostly do private parties now, so if you want to hire us, please contact! Website is on myspace, but we need to fix the genre because although we do country, we seldom do it at places like Awfuls unless it’s requested. Thanks! Elaine, singer of Just Duet
