Half Moon And Friends (10:00PM)

Half Moon is comprised of the two brothers, John and Adam Beason, who as children realized their love of music and began teaching themselves to play their instruments. At ages 15 and 19, the brothers decided to share their talents with the world. Five years later, Half Moon has played over 250 shows. They have entertained crowds in every major city of their home state of Virginia and as far north as New York City. Half Moon frequently receives critical acclaim from southwest VA newspapers, including being named one of Roanoke VA’s top local acts by the Roanoke Times.

Southpaw (10:00PM)

Versatility and Precision. These are the two ingredients in a simple recipe for success, in just about any aspect of life. And if you use them to describe a band, then the band must be Southpaw. If you add a dash of talent and a cup or two of experience, we are talking about a full coarse meal. Southpaw can play to many different kinds of settings, depending on the occasion. Always ready to play any time, whether it is a club, a fraternity house, a wedding, or maybe just a big party in the back yard, Southpaw can fill the need. This is a band that can definitely get a crowd on its feet, whether it be lead vocalist and guitarist Wayne Carter bringing it on home, lead guitarist and vocalist Stacy Stevens shredding it to splinters, or bassist Jeff Mason and drummer Jeff Stinnett setting the tone, Southpaw never disappoints. And they can come at you from different directions. They can come out of the gate blaring electric, or they can tone it down with a good sitting-by-the-campfire acoustic set. With the professionalism that they bring on and off of the stage, Southpaw is not your ordinary lefty out of the bullpen

Villanova (10:00PM)

Brian Conner, lead singer/songwriter and guitarist for Villanova began writing songs at age 11 and has now perfected a unique style of funk and hip-hop rock. Conners' unparalleled guitar skill is a passionate combination of technical jazz-fusion and Jimi Hendrix inspired licks which beautifully blend with the tight pocket powerhouse of bass player Bobby Dredd and drummer Jeremy Roberson. Dredd's Victor Wooten/Larry Graham-esque prominent string slap style is proof that he is a graduate of the old school of funk. Roberson creates the in the pocket, in your face rhythms of Villanova. Newest member of the group walking musical encyclopedia DJ Able One brings samples, cuts, beats, and keys to add an authentic hip hop feel. With a tight and precise rhythm section, sincere soulful vocals, and the collaboration of scratches and samples, Villanova creates an unusual blend of danceable jams, hard driving rock songs, and soulfully written ballads. Villanova has heavy emphasis on melody, singing, and lyrics. The songs are radio friendly and meant to be rocked live. Currently, we are working towards obtaining record label interest and touring the Southeast promoting the new album. We hope to produce music that touches people's hearts and captures a respectable fan base of music lovers.

Nu Groova (10:00PM)

"These guys are unbelievably creative," said Hash, the bassist for Thievery Corporation, after rocking through a 30-minute jam with Groova Scape at 202 Market in Roanoke in January. Michael Travis of String Cheese said similar things after jamming with Groova in April at 202 Market. "I had a lot of fun," Travis, who said he has never before jammed with an opening act, told Groova Scape afterwards. "You guys can jam. It was awesome." Saying he was inspired by Groova's warm-up, Travis jumped in with the Roanoke band and smoked through one of Groova's jams, Power Down, for the sweetest 15 minutes in the band's existence. It was a busy 2008 for Groova Scape, with shows opening for Tim Reynolds and TR3, for RAQ, for Thievery Corporation, for Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band, for the Bridge, for U-Melt, and for EOTO and numerous others. .........FROM THE ROANOKE TIMES REVIEW OF TIM REYNOLDS AND GROOVA SCAPE: "If the band sticks together and stays serious, it could become an original force."

Crobar Cane (10:00PM)
CROBAR CANE, a Roanoke, VA based rock band is ready with their new cd for a long and fruitful career. Their unique yet reminiscent sound is present on their debut cd release due out June 3rd 2005. Their members: Jason Weeks - guitars, Adam Rutledge -guitars and vocals, Jay Gladden - bass guitar, Brett Fulghum -drums and vocals, and Roger Rutledge - piano, organ and vocals, have been playing together since 2003 in their other band Southbound. "Southbound is a lot of fun and we love playing cover tunes but we felt it was time for us to take the next step and really push our original material, so we decided to create CROBAR CANE." says singer/guitarist Adam Rutledge. The story behind the name, CROBAR CANE is unique and CROBAR CANE hopes that it symbolizes the band's future. "My grandfather who is in his late eighties still goes to work everyday at Rutledge Paint and Body Service, and one day I happened to stop by and noticed that he was walking around with a crowbar as his cane, and that just really had a profound affect on me. At that time we were still looking for new band names and it hit me that Crowbar Cane would be a great name. So we dropped the "w" and here we are. I hope this band can last long enough for us to be walking around using crowbar cane's one day." says Rutledge

Paul Brunett (10:00PM)

Having shared the stage with such names as Kansas, The Temptations and The Ragamuffin Band, to name a few, Paul’s music is just as widely diverse and broadly accepted, as it is familiarly personal. With a strong emphasis on the emotional attachment in music and song, he is the epitome of a songwriter's songwriter. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows, you can definitely hear a progressive, percussive, soulful blend of jazz and folk in his music. “This Singe/Songwriter/Guitarist, with his soulful voice, and intense and rousing guitar playing, has a unique sound that is all his own

Rebelicious (10:00PM)

They’ve taken the country music scene by storm with their take no prisoner’s attitude and their all-out high-energy shows. By successfully mixing classic-rock with modern country music, they have created a fresh presence in the country music scene. They are an E ticket ride, and definitely worth the price of admission. BUT be forewarned, they are not the typical “cry in your beer” country band. They are…Rebelicious!
Having played at Nissan Pavilion the last couple of years opening for national acts such as TOBY KEITH, BRAD PAISLEY, BROOKS & DUNN, MONTGOMERY GENTRY, ALAN JACKSON, RASCAL FLATS, SUGARLAND, and TAYLOR SWIFT just to name a few, has given the band wide exposure and established a vast fan base that appreciates the true to life lyrics, infectious melodies and hard driving sound that is Rebelicious. One fan commented, “Saw ya’ll at the Rascal Flatts show and I have to say that I was quite impressed! Great musicianship and vocals were well balanced and VERY strong, plus you put your own ‘signature’ on great covers…. MY kind of band”. After opening recently for HEARTLAND, the band commented ”Really enjoyed jamming’ the other night guys. Stay strong and we’ll see ya’ll soon…” Todd Anderson - Heartland

TK-421 (10:00PM)
Formed by accident in 1999 by four individual coverband veterans, TK-421 has since built an impressive following based on great original rock songwriting, pro-level recording, and powerful live shows. Originally designed as an 80's Hairband tribute, the members of what would become TK found that their chemistry was undeniable. Tossed around guitar riffs quickly became great songs, and hummed vocal melodies quickly became strong lyrical hooks. This was a band that was focused right from the start. The works since created are powerful and driving, yet still manage to be radio friendly. Their self recorded and produced demo cd "Hollow" has received airplay on numerous radio stations in the Southeast US and even abroad in Germany and Australia. "Hollow" even earned them ..1 honors as Roanoke, Virginia's Local Album of the Year. TK-421 has built a strong reputation for putting on a live show that is pure rock served up as it is supposed to be... loud, aggressive, and delivered with an incredible amount of energy. This is a band who plays what it means, and means what it plays. Simply put, TK-421 is the total rock package.
